Job Type: Full-Time
Employee Workplace: Unspecified
Job Description:

CURE International is a non-profit organization that operates hospitals and programs in the developing world where patients experience the life-changing message of God’s love for them, receiving surgical treatment regardless of gender, religion, ethnicity, or the ability to pay.

More than 100 million physically disabled children in the developing world can be cured through surgery…and we need YOU to play a part in making that happen.

CURE has an exceptional opportunity for a Chief Marketing Officer at its headquarters in Lemoyne, Pennsylvania.  The Chief Marketing Officer will join an organization that is on the leading edge of using technology for non-profit fundraising and communication. We have a unique mission and model, a 17-year track record of delivering first-world surgical healthcare in the developing world, an innovative and exciting outcome-reporting platform (www.cure.org/curekids), and an open window to make good on the opportunity before us to heal more children around the world by growing our brand.

Reporting into the President and CEO, the Chief Marketing Officer will run all of our marketing efforts: digital, donor cultivation, campus engagement, events and artist relations, mass communications, public relations, church engagement, organizational messaging, and branding.

All of these functions are part of the overall marketing responsibilities, but our greatest challenge is to help guide CURE through our next phase of growth by building our brand and leading and executing our growth strategy. Our goal is to create remarkable products and experiences, cultivate raving fans and supporters, leverage the Internet to lift up the stories of the people we serve, and mold the brand presence that allows a community of people to find CURE and the work we do. You will need the ambition to pioneer a non-traditional strategy for relational communication and permission-based marketing for non-profits, borrowing from the successful models and techniques of commercial marketing in the technology sector.

Beyond the overall marketing responsibilities listed above, you will have responsibility for:

  • A marketing team that currently numbers eight professionals.
  • Managing the budget for the marketing efforts, including our major donor events.
  • Board-level reporting responsibilities as part of the management team of CURE.
  • Leading, executing, and shaping the direction of our 5-year branding and marketing strategy with an emphasis on building strong internal resources, augmented by external consultants as needed.
  • Working closely with the technology team - a group that comes from the world of product development and online sales.

Qualified candidates for the position will possess the following:

  • A degree in marketing or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience as a professional leader of online and event marketing.
  • Deep understanding of, and experience leading, integrated marketing strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience building or shaping a brand.
  • Experience as a key leader in an organization and manager of a staff (i.e. hiring and firing).
  • Demonstrated ability to exude good ideas with a track record of turning the great ones into campaigns.
  • Willingness to relocate to Central Pennsylvania to work from CURE headquarters.
  • Deep desire to function within a group of equally talented and dedicated peers as a real team.
  • Experience working with remote employees.
  • Passion for mentoring talented professionals into innovative leaders.
  • Commitment to fostering and valuing innovation from within vs. outsourcing innovation to an agency.
  • Ability to be a working manager, knowing that your working knowledge of tasks fosters trust.
  • Excitement to align your Christian faith and vocation to serve the children and families of CURE.

In addition, we are looking for individuals who support and embody the following values:

  • Christlike – reflecting the compassion of Jesus to those we serve
  • Childlike – valuing a child’s passion for life and depending on God in how we think, live and love
  • Integrity - doing what we say and saying what we do
  • Restoring the Broken - taking action in responding to the physical and spiritual needs of those without a voice and resources
  • Intentional Relationships – collaborating, partnering and cultivating trust and authenticity

This is a full-time, paid position that offers a competitive salary with a comprehensive benefits package that may include health, dental and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, retirement, vacation, sick and personal leave, and paid holidays.
