Job Description:

Organization Type:  Non-profit Faith Based

Reports to:  Executive Director

Status:  Part Time $15 an hr/30 hrs a week

Travel Requirements:  From Truth Home to Truth for Women Office

Education and Experience:  Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in behavioral or social sciences, social work, psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy or a related field.

 

Function:  The Operational Manager has overall responsibility of ensuring the home objectives are clearly stated and that program activities are pointed towards the achievement of predetermined goals.  The Operational Manager assumes the overall leadership role in operations, finances, administration and residential services at the Truth Home. 

 

Requirements:

  • Leadership experience
  • Excellent work ethic, good people management skills and the ability to perform well in stressful situations
  • Excellent communication and multitasking skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong conflict resolution and decision making skills
  • Must be an independent decision maker and can manage people in a motivational and constructive way
  • Ability to lead and manage diverse teams
  • At least 2 years of Non-Profit management experience
  • At least 2 years of advocacy experience with women
  • Experience in Biblical injustice issues
  • Experience in residential care
  • Must be familiar with and understand addictions and trauma
  • Manifests evidence of personal faith in Jesus Christ and knowledge of scriptures

 

Responsibilities – Personnel & Scheduling

  • Recruitment, hiring, firing, staffing and supervision of staff
  • Be available for staff on a regular basis
  • Weekly and monthly meetings with staff in order to monitor job performance, provide professional development and ensure quality of care for women in home
  • Ensure all performance evaluations of all staff are completed according to the employee handbook
  • Determine areas of further training need of all employees of the Truth Home
  • Promotion, demotion, disciplinary action, and ensuring exit interviews are completed
  • Ensures all staff adheres to expectations set forth in the employee handbook
  • On call for operational or maintenance issues
  • Schedules and facilitates monthly staff meetings
  • Attends Comprehensive Care Team meeting
  • Oversees and approves PTO for each staff member

 

Responsibilities – Fiscal

  • Works with Executive Director to develop an annual budget for review and approval by the Board; ensure that expenditures are within the budgeted amounts; and prepare budget revisions as needed throughout the year
  • Authorize purchase orders
  • Maintain and balance cash box monthly
  • Responsible for raising necessary funds for events with participants
  • Monthly operational Board reports

 

Responsibilities – Environment

  • Maintain an environment that enhances the strength-based approach of the program
  • Equip and maintain an environment that ensures health and safety of the women, staff and volunteers
  • Enlist and train volunteers
  • Maintain communication with volunteers through monthly newsletters
  • Ensure documentation of planned programs are consistent always with the needs of the women for social, educational and recreational activities
  • Ensures all policies and procedures are followed
  • Equip and maintain a safe vehicle for transportation of women

 

Responsibilities – Confidential Records and Files

All records, reports and other materials relating to women in the home shall be kept in a locked file under the discretion of the Operational Manager.  The following will be kept in locked files:

  • Records of all women in the home (past and present); treatment components including individual treatment plans, goals and objectives; provisions for continued assessment
  • Personnel files including employee files, timesheets, performance evaluations, salary schedules, petty cash and records

 

Responsibilities – Other Duties as Assigned

The Operational Manager shall perform other duties as prescribed by the Executive Director.
