Job Description:
OVERVIEW & ROLE SUMMARY 
This position has two sets of responsibilities with one goal: to build up our body through our music and discipleship, specifically via small groups. We recognize that worship is for all of life and that it is uniquely expressed via music and discipleship. The worship pastor is responsible for leading and developing a growing music worship ministry in our church family. The Small Groups Pastor is responsible for discipleship by growing and fostering small group communities at DMGC.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, a person that draws people. 
• Creative, passionate, and enthusiastic. 
• Discernment in evaluating lyrics and appropriateness of content. 
• A gifted music leader with excellent verbal communication skills. 
• The ability to lead music worship vocally and instrumentally. 
• Flexible – ability to support varying musical genres tone and volume, adjust practice schedules to needs of volunteers, adjust team leadership approach for maximum results. 
• Ability and desire to mentor musicians, vocalists, and new leaders with varying skill levels. 
• A passion for creating disciples and fostering spiritual formation within small group communities 
• Able to teach and preach people into the way of Jesus
• Strong administrative and planning skills, detail-oriented, with excellent conflict resolution and problem-solving skills 
• Magnetism and networking, leadership development skills 
 
MUSIC WORSHIP DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 
• Encourage vibrant corporate response to God through music. 
• Oversee the DMGC music worship ministry. 
• Lead, recruit, mentor & manage volunteer music teams. 
• Provide opportunities for gifted individuals to serve Jesus and our congregation. 
• Foster development of music worship team technical and leadership skills. 
• Research, plan, learn, train & introduce new songs to the congregation on a regular basis in collaboration with the Pastoral Team 
• Support non-Sunday worship events as necessary 
• Utilize Planning Center Services for music worship team administration. 
 
 SMALL GROUP DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 
• Coordinate with the pastoral team in the development and growth of a strong small group ministry fostering community involvement and spiritual growth 
• Recruit, train, and equip small group leaders to lead healthy groups that exhibit vulnerability, accountability, application of Scripture, guidance, and belonging. 
• Increase involvement in small groups. 
• Build connections with active and new attendees so that even if they are not ready for a group now, they have a relationship with you whenever they are ready. 
• Plan and execute regular small group connection events as a means of attracting people and connecting them to small groups. Special attention should be given to integrating new attendees.
• Create promotional materials and media that ensure everyone at the church is aware of the small group's ministry area, its purpose and importance, and how to get connected


Compensation: $50-60k (based on experience), w/ medical, retirement, and vision

Des Moines Gospel Chapel is a non-denominational church nestled in a waterfront community located just south of Seattle in Washington State. It is focused on growing a community of believers that “love God most, to love others best”.

We are a multi-generational church where God is doing great things! Currently have an average attendance of nearly 200 people; triple our post-Covid attendance! We have a young energetic pastoral team that is passionate about reaching one of the most unchurched regions of the US for Jesus. We want to grow in reaching one of the most ethnically diverse communities in the country, specifically Hispanic and African-american communities.
