Role: Youth Pastor
Responsibility:
- Commit to leading in biblical accordance and under direction from manager to accomplish the mission and vision of Friends Church.
- Active participation in the planning, implementing, executing, and closing out of our 4 pillar Buzz Event Initiatives at Friends Church.
- Be an active participant in creating opportunities that lead to eternal salvation.
- Commit to helping in the discipleship of believers at Friends Church to help the Family of God grow in their faith.
- Active participant in the shepherding of God’s flock according to 1 Peter Chapter 5.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development and Execution:
- Lead, design, and implement engaging and relevant programs and small group activities for our youth that align with the church’s mission and values through large group experiences, small group experiences, monthly small group meet ups, and quarterly events.
Pastoral Care:
- Build relationships with youth and provide spiritual guidance through one-on-one meetings, group outings, and mentorship.
- Offer pastoral support to youth, addressing spiritual, emotional, and personal issues. Including hospital visits, emergency response, and spiritual follow up.
Volunteer and Team Leadership:
- Lead, train, and cultivate a community of volunteers who desire to partner with us in developing the next generation of disciples who can change the world through youth ministry at Friends Church.
- Maintain a 1-10 students to leader ratio in both jr. high and senior high environments.
Parent Engagement:
- Develop relationships with the parents of our teens to better understand how the church can partner with them to fulfill their biblical command to own their son or daughters spiritual development.
- Develop, equip, and deploy a team of parents to assist in the ministry execution and small group efforts of the ministry.
Administration and Communication:
- Manage the youth ministry budget, including planning and oversight of financial resources for programs and events.
- Maintain effective communication with youth, parents, and church leadership through various channels such as Microsoft Teams, social media, email, and meetings.
Personal Development:
- Continue personal growth and education in theology, youth ministry, and related fields.
- Stay informed about current trends and challenges affecting youth and incorporate this knowledge into ministry planning.
- Commit to living out the staff behavioral values as you function inside your staff role as a valued team member.
Execute Weekly Scorecard:
- At Friends we believe that the right behaviors will lead to the right results, therefore we commit to accomplishing our weekly scoreboard believing it will set the table for the Holy Spirit to do what only He can do.
Working Conditions:
- The Youth Pastor is expected to work 45 hrs a week, including evenings and weekends to accommodate youth and volunteer schedules.
- Flexibility is required to respond to the needs of youth and the church community.
Compensation Package includes: Salary, Medical & Dental, PTO, Life Insurance, Pension, HSA Benefits and Opportunity for Bonuses. Relocation Expense available.
